The Glacier Trust works exclusively in the upland regions of Nepal. Our projects focus on those most vulnerable to the impacts of Climate Change. We currently support work in Solukhumbo and Sankhuwasabha in the east and Newalparasi in the south.
Where we work
Atmospheric warming is not a consistent phenomenon. Nepal has an extraordinarily varied topography giving rise to a wide range of environments. Simplistically, the country divides into three horizontal belts each of which has a differing rate of atmospheric warming. The climate and weather affects are therefore very localised. TGT is unique in its structured approach to addressing climate change in Nepal. We focus specifically on upland communities from the Siwalik foothills to the higher mountains of the Himalaya.
