Volleyball tour to Deurali, February 2019
A volleyball match in Durlunga Baseni village, February 2017.
Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in Nepal. It is played at schools and on village squares all over the country. It is especially popular in mountain and hill regions where it is just possible to carve out a portion land flat enough and big enough for a volleyball court.
We have partnered with the people behind the All Nations Volleyball Tournament to organise a one-week Volleyball tour to Nepal. In February 2019, a small squad of players and coaches will travel with TGT staff and volunteers to Deurali to visit our Climate Change adaptation project work in Durlunga, Dhahaba and Sartakun. They will play volleyball with local teams in every village along the way.
The squad have committed to raising £4,000 to support project work in the villages they are visiting. They are covering the cost of their flights, transfers and accommodation, so 100% of the funds they raise will be spent in Deurali!
More details to follow, but if you would like to support the tour, please get in touch.
