Syani Maya Rai is a mother, farmer and community activist from Deusa, in Solukhumbo, eastern Nepal. TGT is helping Syani to raise the funds she needs to build a new pond to harvest rainwater. If she can do this, she can adapt her farming methods to the changing rainfall patterns being experienced here thanks to Climate Change.

Donald Trump has finally made the announcement we've all been fearing. He has withdrawn the USA from the Paris Agreement. It is a deeply troubling decision, which could trigger many knock on effects. One to be greatly feared is that it might embolden other countries, whose Government's waver in their commitment to multilateral action on Climate Change. We have to desperately hope that countries like Russia, Australia and who knows, after June 8th, even the UK, don't follow Trump's lead in the months and years ahead.

How to respond? The Glacier Trust will continue its programme in Nepal, we need your support now more than ever. Defy Trump's outrageous action, by showing your solidarity for those most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

The Glacier Trust is enabling remote mountain communities to adapt to the impacts of Climate Change. Our support helps entire villages to develop environmentally and economically sustainable agriculture. This enables families to continue farming, living and learning on land they have inhabited for generations.

Trump's decision has the potential to speed up and deepen the progress of Climate Change. The impacts will be greater and will arrive sooner.

If we, as citizens, cannot rely on global leaders to address climate change and its impacts, we will have to respond ourselves through on the ground action. The need was urgent before today's announcement, it is doubly urgent now.

Please consider making a donation to The Glacier Trust today, 100% of your donation will be spent on our project work in Nepal.

Thank-you.
